What is EMDR therapy?
EMDR - eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. This type of therapy can help when a person has experienced an upsetting events and then they experience triggers, uncomfortable body sensations or any one of the nervous system responses; fight, flight, freeze or fawn. In EMDR therapy, the therapist guides your eyes while the client thinks about unpleasant event. Using this type of processing, the thoughts, feelings and sensations related to this event begin to fade and the event just becomes a memory.
